Hello everyone! How have you been doing? It’s been a while, but boy, there has been a lot going on. Well, namely, these things. 😀 Enjoy!
1. Shopping at a Eurostore. These shops are AWESOME, because everything is priced at 1 €! They are like what Daiso stores are in Asia, or Dollar Trees in America. I have bought a few useful things for the home here. Do try them out before you make small purchases at more expensive stores.
2. Eating paraboiled rice. I finally gave in. After 4 months of not eating rice, I decided to cook the boxed pack that T bought for me before I arrived. Since we don’t have a rice cooker yet, I cooked it the old-fashioned way, and had the rice boiling in hot water until it was edible. It tasted different from the usual jasmine rice i’m used to, but it was still really good. If you don’t have a chance to go to an Asian store yet, you can try the boxed rice for a start.
3. Renovations. I haven’t posted in a while, because there’s just so much to get done. 😐 We have been talking about renovating our home for a few months now, and I’m glad the work is finished. It was hard toil for days, but in the end, the clean and freshly-painted walls were worth it. Yup, Germans mostly do renovations and moving house themselves.
4. Knitted my own cowl. At last I have travelled to a shop that sells yarn, and bought my first big one. I love how I got to finish my project quickly, and it’s in such a rich bright-red-to-orange color! The needles and yarn surprisingly cost a lot though, so I may go back to knitting with thinner yarn and needles.
5. Had my first Berlin Tour. Woohoo! T, my “family-in-law” and I made our way from Alexanderplatz to Brandenburger Tor, and it was a nice, long walk during a sunny, spring day, so I have no complaints, haha. The weather was just right, warm even, so there were a lot of people walking about as well. Here are some photos of the city:
That’s it for now! Let me know which spots you have been to in Berlin, or if you have any recommendations on which places I should visit, just jot them below. 🙂
Tschüss!
Such great photos! Thanks for sharing them with us 😀

you can double your thin yarn to make it thicker.. I tried finding both ends of the yarn and knit the two strands together and same result, quick made project… 🙂 order needles at amazon.. i got sets of them for just 5 euro or so.. made of bamboo though which is a bit more sticker and slower than metal ones. or if you see kik shop, they sell 1 euro needles… happy knitting… i am working on a summer dress for my little girl at the moment.

Ahh, that’s a good idea! I’ll try that with my thin yarn. 🙂 I’ll definitely check Amazon or Kik. Thank you so much for the suggestions! I really appreciate it. 🙂 Oh, wow! You’re really good at it, i’m still struggling to make another project, haha. I hope you start your own shop of knitted garments. 🙂
